At our last monthly meeting at Maggiano’s, Dr. Silky Wong with DOW presented on Onshore Modularization for Refining and Petrochemical Industries. This event was very well attended, as many came wanting to hear more about the complexities involved with engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases within the refining, petrochemical, and other industrial facilities. Dr. Wong discussed various aspects of how onshore modularization can often provide more viable solutions and reduced project costs for capital projects, and how this is highly dependent on the project schedule, local labor conditions, environmental conditions, site accessibility, equipment complexity, capital project constructability, and local permit and environmental regulations. Dr. Wong provided a few examples of how modularized capital projects are typically staged and constructed.

Join us next week as Ashish Patel with LAN and Mike Hasen with HVJ Associates present on a fast tracked design of a bus platform and dedicated bus lane construction for the Post Oak Boulevard rebuild in Uptown Houston!
