After a long and contentious campaign and election I am proud to have been elected your Secretary for 2016! I look forward to working with all of you, not just those who voted for me.

For those of you who do not know me I have been a part of SEAoT since 2010. I have been a member of the Houston/Gulf Coast chapter since moving here in 2012 from Oklahoma City to join Cardno Haynes Whaley. I have served the SEAoT Houston/Gulf Coast chapter in a variety of positions including advertising chair and young member chair.

As an associate at Cardno Haynes Whaley I have had the opportunity to work on some great projects in and around Houston for the last three and a half years. I look forward to getting to know all of you better and working with this organization that means so much to me. I hope that together we can continue to grow the origination and increase its value to each member.

We ended 2015 with our monthly meeting held on November 19 during the lunch hour at Pappas BBQ on Hwy 59 in South Houston. The meeting was sponsored by Aegis Metal Framing and the presentation was given by Mr. David Boyd. The title of Mr. Boyd’s presentation was “The Speci cation, Design, Manufacturing and Installation of Cold-Formed Steel Trusses”.

The board met to close-out business for 2015 on December 11. Items that were discussed included the progress of the website, exploring other meeting locations and times, and the election of new board members.

Again I just want to say that I am looking forward to working with all of you and serving this great organization.
