Abstract:
This presentation will provide an introductory overview of the adhesive and mechanical anchor market, including the fundamental principles of anchor theory, which includes applications and design basis. Various types of anchors, including product specifications and selection criteria, will also be covered. Attendees should expect to better understand the failure modes and working principles of post-installed and cast-in-place anchors under various load conditions and be able to evaluate the different factors that can impact the design of an anchor system.

Presenter:
Claire Sexton is the Structural Field Engineer in Houston for Hilti North America. Hilti is a leading provider of fastening systems and software solutions for the construction industry. Before starting as the structural field engineer in Houston, Claire worked in the Hilti Technical Services department, assisting structural engineers and contractors with questions related to Hilti’s anchoring and direct fastening products.
