I trust each and every one of you have had a healthy and enjoyable summer. Fall is nearly upon us, and I can only imagine you are all as ready as I am for a change to cooler weather.
As we ended the spring, the board had hopes that there may be some form of in-person meetings possible by later in the year. At the present time, we are planning to continue with our virtual-only meetings for the foreseeable future. Not only is this an effort to continue promoting health and wellness in our chapter while considering the rise in cases and new variants; it is also due in part to the scheduling of speakers (many of whom are not in the Greater Houston area and would not be able to present in person). We will continue to monitor local and state guidelines.
We kick off our fall season next week with our first meeting. Sara Buerstinghaus, our chapter vice president, has done a tremendous job of putting together a slate of speakers on diverse and intriguing topics. I’m hoping that you will join us in our upcoming virtual chapter meetings to enjoy what our chapter has to offer us and hear from our speakers. I would even encourage you to turn on your webcam!
Stay safe,
Joshua White, Ph.D., P.E.
