Abstract:
This presentation introduces the fundamentals of post-installed anchor design in accordance with ACI 318-19, focusing on the influence of base plate stiffness on anchor behavior and load distribution. Participants will learn key engineering criteria used to evaluate base plate stiffness and explore Fischer’s Spring Model, which utilizes Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to determine realistic forces at anchorage points. The session will also demonstrate how the Fischer C-Fix software can be used to optimize anchorage designs, improve design efficiency, and support safe, code-compliant structural solutions.

Mauricio Gonzalez is a civil structural engineer with 20 years of professional experience in the construction and infrastructure sectors. He holds an MBA and has built his career at the intersection of structural engineering and technical business development, with a specialization in seismic design for concrete and steel structures. Throughout his career, he has worked on complex industrial, mining, and infrastructure projects, combining deep technical expertise with leadership in commercial strategy. His current focus is on advanced anchoring systems and structural retrofitting solutions, helping engineers deliver safer, more efficient, and more resilient structures.
