Houston EAA Bridge Presentation and Award Event 4/28/2022

Seeking Volunteer Judges!

ENGINEERS ALLIANCE FOR THE ARTS (EAA) facilitates a unique bridge-building program in your community. EAA is looking for volunteer engineers, architects, design and construction professionals to fill the judge spots for our 2022 program. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community — particularly to inspire high school students to potentially pursue engineering or design in college — and also polish your knowledge of bridge design and construction. This judge opportunity is open to professionals at all levels, whether you are new to the industry, a tenured professional or retired.

Tenth grade technology students at Heights High School are creating and constructing model bridges to satisfy a specified criteria. Judges would be asked to review six one page essays, and six hand sketches related to the student’s bridges prior to the event. Judges would also be asked to view six oral presentations at the event at Heights High School on 4/28/2022 from 2:40 PM to 4:10 PM. Judges would then select the team with the best overall bridge presentation.

For more information about the program, check out our website:

Even if you can’t participate this year, please help spread the word to coworkers and other engineers or architects you may know.
