SEAoT TAMU General Meeting, September 24
For the first meeting of the Fall 2020 Semester, we had the privilege of hosting Max Milan, E.I.T., and Jonathan Brower, P.E., from L.A. Fuess Partners. L.A. Fuess Partners is a Structural Engineering firm specializing in the design of commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial buildings. Lawrence A. Fuess founded the firm in 1979 with a vision based on trust, professionalism, and excellence of service. LAFP pursues innovative design solutions that contribute to the overall success of each project and benefit all involved.
Our speakers from LAFP discussed about Collin College Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge) that is the site of a new 92,000 square-foot, three-story Information Technology Center with an estimated budget of $59 million. It will serve 2,500 students pursuing networking, cloud computing, computer forensics, computer and mobile programming, and other related fields. The structural design of this building required unique analytical and detailing solutions, notably vibration analysis of free-spanning monumental stairs and pedestrian bridges in the atrium.
