Scholarships:
Deepank Singh, EIT, Ph. D. Candidate at the University of Houston has been awarded the scholarship award for 2024.
As a Structural Engineering Ph.D. candidate at the University of Houston, Deepank’s career aspirations center on bridging the gap between advanced computational methods and practical engineering solutions. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence into structural engineering. In the short term, he aims to transition into the industry to apply his proficiency in computational tools such as Python, finite element method (FEM) packages, and AI. To that end, during his internship at SML in the summer of 2024, he had the opportunity to work on real-life projects to implement the knowledge he had gained into practice. He developed tools such as a report generation system for inspections and a structural project finder tool that can save hours of time and make the overall workflow more effective.
