Sathish Ramamoorthy, Ph.D., P.E., of Stress Engineering Services, Inc., presented “Advanced Finite Element Analysis Tools for design of components in Upstream Oil & Gas Industry” at our October meeting. Dr. Ramamoorthy gave an overview of advanced FEA and then touched on specific examples of its use in case studies. Dr. Ramamoorthy possesses such a wealth of experience and content he could have easily presented much longer, had time permitted. November’s meeting on 11/21 will be quite busy, with officer elections and two distinct presentations.
Andrew “Drew” Parrish of MAPEI will be presenting on Joint Sealant Basics for 1 PDH of technical content. SEAoT’s lobbyist Bill Stevens will provide an update on SEAoT’s legistative agenda and the upcoming “Day at the Dome”, along with Q&A, for 1 PDH of ethics content. We will be seating a few minutes early, about 11:50 a.m., and staying until about 2:00 p.m. in order to allow for this extra content.
