Structural Noncombustible Fiber-Reinforced Cementitious Sheathing Panels

By Adam Smith – USG Corporation

The goal of the program is to present to the structural engineer the category of noncombustible structural fiber-reinforced sheathing panels. There will be an introduction to the market forces that lead to the development of the panel category and the basic design criteria and composition of the panels. An explanation of the panel characteristics and strength attributes will be discussed, leading to an outline of the various applications and unique solutions the panels provide in everyday design and construction.

After the presentation, the structural engineer should be comfortable with the noncombustible structural panel category of panels and better understand there uses, where to find design information and how to apply the panels in structural design.
