The SEAoT Houston chapter is pleased to announce its 2020 scholarship recipient. The scholarship committee selected A Rum Han, a graduate student of Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. The decision was based on her resume, transcripts, recommendation letters, and her outstanding essay.
In addition to pursuing her degree, A Rum Han is also a graduate student worker at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI). Previously, she worked at a structural engineering company as a project engineer for five year. She graduated from Kookmin University with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in civil engineering. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in architectural engineering from Hanyang University where she focused on steel structures in South Korea. As a graduate student worker at TTI, she is currently involved in several research projects related to bridge parapet systems. Her research is focused on roadside safety through designing, analyzing and crash testing safety hardware.
Each year, SEAoT Houston Chapter offers one $1250 travel/conference scholarship. The money is specifically designated to fund attending the SEAoT State Conference. Since this year’s SEAoT State Conference was conducted as a virtual event, and registration was free for students, we changed our scholarship for this year to a cash grant of $1250.
Congratulations A Rum Han!
